Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a distinguished Senior Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to their prominent infrastructure projects based in Birmingham, West Midlands . This role demands a deep understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground investigation techniques. You will be responsible for managing geotechnical aspects of projects, providing expert advice, and ensuring the stability and safety of groundworks and foundations. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, drilling, and laboratory testing.
• Develop detailed geotechnical reports, foundation designs, and ground improvement strategies.
• Provide expert advice on slope stability, seismic analysis, and earth retaining structures.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and site teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Review and approve geotechnical designs and calculations prepared by team members.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and technical standards within the geotechnical team.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 6 years of relevant professional experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proven track record in managing complex geotechnical projects from inception through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) and relevant UK standards.
• Experience with ground investigation methods and interpretation of soil data.
