About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their specialist team based in Liverpool, Merseyside . This critical role involves providing expert geotechnical advice and leading investigations and design for a wide range of construction projects. You will be instrumental in assessing ground conditions, designing foundations, earthworks, and slope stability solutions, ensuring the safety and viability of significant developments. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, intrusive ground investigations, and laboratory testing programs.
- Perform detailed geotechnical design for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, and earthworks.
- Analyse soil-structure interaction and provide recommendations for slope stability and ground improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, design documents, and construction method statements.
- Provide technical supervision and support to site investigation teams and construction personnel.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CEng or equivalent is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering consultancy.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, or similar finite element analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and interpretation of CPT, SPT, and laboratory data.
- Excellent report writing skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
