Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Bristol . This role is crucial for assessing ground conditions and providing expert geotechnical design solutions for a range of energy infrastructure projects, including foundations for offshore wind turbines and onshore facilities. You will be responsible for managing site investigations, undertaking complex analyses, and delivering robust design recommendations to ensure project success and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee ground investigations, including desk studies, intrusive investigations, and laboratory testing programs.
• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses for foundations, slopes, tunnels, and earthworks.
• Develop detailed geotechnical design reports and specifications for onshore and offshore structures.
• Provide expert advice on ground conditions, settlement, stability, and seismic considerations.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, Slope/W).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and project management skills.
