Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their expert team in Reading . This vital role involves leading the geotechnical aspects of diverse engineering projects, including site investigations, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and ground improvement strategies. You will provide high-level technical expertise, manage project deliverables, and mentor junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including interpreting data from site surveys and laboratory testing.
• Design foundations (shallow and deep), retaining structures, and earthworks for various construction projects.
• Perform complex slope stability analysis and develop mitigation strategies for challenging ground conditions.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, specifications, and design documents.
• Provide expert geotechnical advice to clients, project managers, and site teams.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Eurocodes, British Standards, and industry best practices for geotechnical engineering .

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialization.
• Substantial experience (7+ years) in geotechnical investigation, analysis, and design.
• Advanced proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis , GeoStudio, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly preferred.
