About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the meticulous maintenance and development of their prestigious golf course facilities in the scenic region of Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves leading a team of groundskeepers, implementing cutting-edge agronomic practices, and ensuring the course consistently meets championship standards. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of the course, managing budgets, and upholding the club's reputation for excellence, working closely with management to align operational goals with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive agronomic plans for turfgrass management, including irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of groundskeepers, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
• Manage course maintenance operations, ensuring bunkers, greens, fairways, and rough are maintained to the highest standards.
• Oversee the procurement and efficient use of equipment, materials, and supplies within budget.
• Implement sustainable environmental practices and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with the club’s management and golf professionals on course improvements and event preparation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in golf course management, with at least 3 years in a senior superintendent role.
• Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in turfgrass physiology , soil science, and pest/disease identification and management.
• Proficiency in irrigation systems , including modern control technologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills.
• Certification from a recognized turf management association is highly desirable.
