Senior Grid Modernization Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Grid Modernization Specialist to join their fully remote team, with a focus on projects impacting the Sheffield region. This role is critical in shaping the future of the energy grid, focusing on integrating renewable energy sources, enhancing reliability, and improving efficiency through advanced technologies. You will lead strategic initiatives, conduct in-depth analysis, and provide expert guidance to utilities and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of grid modernization strategies and roadmaps.
• Analyze grid performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions using advanced analytics.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies such as smart grids, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), and distributed energy resources (DERs).
• Develop business cases and project plans for grid modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with utility engineers, regulators, and technology providers to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Provide expert consultation and technical leadership on complex grid issues.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems engineering, grid operations, or smart grid technologies.
• Deep understanding of grid modernization concepts, including DER integration, microgrids, and grid automation.
• Proven experience with data analysis, modeling, and simulation of power systems.
• Strong knowledge of utility industry regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, enabling effective remote collaboration.
