Senior Grid Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grid Operations Specialist to contribute to the reliability and efficiency of energy networks in the Reading area. This hybrid role allows for a mix of remote work and in-office presence, providing flexibility while ensuring critical operational oversight. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing the real-time operation of the power grid, ensuring stable power supply and efficient resource allocation. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in grid operations, a deep understanding of power system dynamics, and strong decision-making capabilities under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control power grid operations in real-time, responding effectively to disturbances and emergencies.
• Analyze grid performance data, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and execute operational procedures for system maintenance, outages, and restoration.
• Coordinate with generation facilities, transmission operators, and other stakeholders to ensure system stability.
• Participate in grid planning and expansion studies, providing operational expertise.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards for grid reliability .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in power grid operations or system control.
• In-depth knowledge of power system stability, load forecasting, and contingency analysis.
• Experience with SCADA systems and grid operations software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
