Senior Highways Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Highways Engineer to join their team in Nottingham , offering a flexible hybrid working model. This role is essential for the design, planning, and implementation of highways and transportation infrastructure projects that support regional connectivity and economic growth. You will be instrumental in developing innovative road designs, traffic management solutions, and ensuring compliance with national standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of highway schemes, including road layouts, junction design, and traffic management systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies, traffic impact assessments, and geometric design analyses.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and contract documentation for highways projects.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, statutory undertakers, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians working on highways projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in highways engineering design and project delivery.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering highway projects in the UK .
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD , Civil 3D , KeyStreets , or similar.
• Strong understanding of DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and other relevant standards.
• Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills.
