Senior HSE Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior HSE Advisor to join their team in Reading , ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across their operations in the oil and gas industry . This role is pivotal in developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE strategies and management systems to mitigate risks and promote a strong safety culture. You will provide expert guidance, conduct audits, and foster continuous improvement in HSE practices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and management systems aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, conducting root cause analyses and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice and support to management and operational teams on all aspects of HSE.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to ensure personnel competency and awareness.
• Promote a positive HSE culture throughout the organization, encouraging active participation and feedback from employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the oil and gas sector or heavy industry.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification is essential; a Diploma is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and industry-specific regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and auditing skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
