About the Role
Our client, a leader in the energy industry , is seeking a diligent and proactive Senior HSE Advisor to enhance safety performance and ensure regulatory compliance at their operations in Sunderland . This critical role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment management systems. You will champion a strong safety culture, conduct rigorous risk assessments, and provide expert guidance to site personnel and management. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HSE professional to lead safety initiatives, influence operational practices, and contribute to a secure and sustainable working environment within a challenging industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management systems and policies.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Provide expert advice and training to employees and management on HSE regulations and best practices.
- Monitor workplace conditions and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external agencies to ensure adherence to all legal requirements.
- Develop and execute emergency response plans and ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a dedicated HSE role , preferably within the energy or industrial sector.
- Recognized professional qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH).
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and industry-specific standards.
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
