About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior HSE Engineer to join their offshore operations team, based near Norwich . This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) are maintained across all operational activities within the oil and gas sector. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring robust HSE management systems, procedures, and initiatives to prevent incidents and promote a strong safety culture. This is an essential position for safeguarding personnel and the environment in demanding offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and management systems tailored for offshore operations.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and control measures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to operational personnel and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE legislation and industry standards.
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organisation and project sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment roles within the offshore oil and gas industry .
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of offshore safety regulations, risk management techniques, and incident investigation procedures.
- Strong understanding of environmental protection measures relevant to offshore activities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, crucial for operational safety near Norwich .
