Senior HSE Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HSE Manager to lead their Health, Safety, and Environment initiatives in Plymouth . This senior management role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive HSE strategies to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across all operations. You will drive continuous improvement in HSE performance, manage risk, and foster a strong safety culture. This is a critical position for ensuring the well-being of employees and the protection of the environment, working within a company that values high standards of operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations to minimize workplace risks.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Manage and mentor the HSE team, providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections to monitor HSE performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders on HSE matters.

Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Significant experience (e.g., 9+ years) in a senior HSE management role, preferably within the energy sector.
• Expertise in risk management , safety engineering, and environmental protection.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification is essential.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of UK HSE regulations and international standards.
