Senior HSE Manager

About the Role

Our client, a leading organisation within the energy sector , is seeking a highly experienced Senior HSE Manager to oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives across their operations, primarily based in Reading, Berkshire . This strategic role demands a proactive approach to ensuring compliance with stringent regulations, fostering a robust safety culture, and minimizing operational risks. You will lead a dedicated HSE team, implementing best practices and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to all levels of staff.
• Manage emergency response planning and ensure preparedness across all operational sites.
• Stay abreast of evolving HSE legislation and industry best practices, advising management on necessary changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in HSE management , preferably within the energy industry .
• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful HSE strategies and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• In-depth knowledge of UK HSE legislation and regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills are essential for this managerial role in Reading .
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and HAZOP studies is advantageous.
