About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Industrial Automation Engineer to join their expanding operations. This position is designed as a fully remote role, offering exceptional flexibility to professionals based anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex automation solutions that enhance manufacturing efficiency and output. Your expertise in robotics, PLC programming, and system integration will be critical in driving innovation and ensuring the reliability of automated systems. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of automated systems, including robotic cells, PLCs, and HMI interfaces.
- Develop and implement PLC programming and control logic for various manufacturing processes.
- Oversee the integration of new automation technologies and equipment into existing production lines.
- Troubleshoot and provide remote technical support for complex automation issues.
- Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analyses for proposed automation projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior automation engineers in their technical development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in industrial automation engineering.
- Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong knowledge of robotics , servo systems, and vision systems.
- Proven ability to manage complex automation projects from concept to commissioning.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and remote communication skills.
