Senior Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Information Security Analyst to join their dedicated security team in Aberdeen . This role is critical in safeguarding the company's digital assets, identifying potential threats, and implementing robust security measures. You will be instrumental in shaping the security posture of the organization, working collaboratively with IT and business units to ensure comprehensive protection against evolving cyber risks. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and prioritize security weaknesses across the organization.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
• Monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM tools, to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents, providing detailed incident response reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to implement security controls and ensure secure system configurations.
• Stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to proactively adapt security strategies.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in information security, with a focus on risk management and incident response.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and threat landscapes.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex security data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
