Senior Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Information Security Analyst to join their established team. This is a critical role within the organisation, focused on safeguarding sensitive data and systems against evolving cyber threats. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust security strategies, policies, and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and communication across distributed teams. We are looking for an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a deep understanding of information security principles and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security weaknesses.
• Monitor security systems and incident response activities, leading investigations and remediation efforts.
• Provide expert guidance and support on security best practices to all departments within the organisation.
• Manage and configure security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
• Stay abreast of the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to ensure continuous improvement of the security posture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as an Information Security Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint security solutions, and cloud security.
• Proficiency in risk management, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly and concisely.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable.
