Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Brighton , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their dedicated team. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead significant infrastructure projects, from strategic planning and feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction support. You will leverage your expertise to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for a variety of clients, collaborating with a distributed team of professionals across the UK. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who values remote flexibility while driving impactful projects within the East Sussex region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and utility networks.
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, site analyses, and option appraisals for new developments.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and tender packages.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff within a remote team structure.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical discipline, with professional chartership (e.g., CEng MICE) being highly valued.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in infrastructure design and project management, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects.
• In-depth knowledge of UK planning policy, building regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including Civil 3D , PDS, or similar, and relevant hydraulic modelling tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
• Experience in sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and low-carbon design approaches.
