About the Role
Our client, a leading developer in Sunderland , is seeking a proactive Senior Infrastructure Engineer to oversee the planning and delivery of site infrastructure for new development projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all infrastructure aspects, including roads, drainage, and utilities, are designed and implemented to the highest standards. You will work closely with internal teams and external consultants to bring development plans to fruition, playing a vital role in the company's expansion in the Tyne and Wear region. This position offers a great opportunity to lead critical infrastructure components from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of site infrastructure, including road networks, foul and surface water drainage, and utility connections.
- Manage external consultants and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure works.
- Review and approve design submissions, ensuring compliance with planning conditions and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with statutory undertakers and local authority bodies to secure necessary approvals and agreements.
- Undertake site feasibility studies and preliminary assessments for new development opportunities.
- Monitor construction progress, resolve site issues, and ensure quality control of infrastructure works.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (minimum 6 years) in infrastructure design and delivery, preferably within a development context.
- Strong knowledge of Section 38, Section 104, and Section 278 agreements.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroDrainage).
- Excellent understanding of UK planning and building regulations related to infrastructure.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
