Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects in the Brighton area. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in infrastructure design and a proven ability to manage project elements effectively. You will be instrumental in developing designs for roads, drainage, utilities, and site infrastructure, ensuring they meet the highest standards of sustainability and performance. Working within a forward-thinking consultancy, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to the strategic direction of projects, embracing a hybrid working model that combines office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of comprehensive infrastructure solutions for residential, commercial, and public sector projects.
• Perform complex calculations for flood risk assessments, drainage systems, and pavement design.
• Produce detailed technical drawings, reports, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and client communications to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including local authorities and utility providers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in infrastructure design and project delivery.
• Proficiency with relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, and relevant modelling tools.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning policies, building regulations, and environmental standards.
• Excellent project management and client-facing communication skills.
• Experience in S278, S104, or similar highway/adoption agreements is advantageous.
