Senior Instrumentation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join their operations in Derby . This role is central to the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems essential for the safe and efficient operation of their facilities within the energy sector . You will provide expert technical support, manage projects, and ensure the reliability and accuracy of critical measurement and control loops. Key Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and select instrumentation and control systems for new projects and upgrades.
• Oversee the installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation equipment.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control philosophies.
• Provide technical leadership and support for maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations for instrumentation and control systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience as an Instrumentation Engineer , preferably within the process industries or energy sector.
• Proficiency with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience managing projects.
