About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Insurance Actuary to contribute to their actuarial and risk management functions. Operating on a hybrid model from our Derby office, this role is critical for developing pricing models, reserving calculations, and providing strategic insights into financial risks. You will play a key part in ensuring the long-term financial health and solvency of the company. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and refine actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and capital management.
- Perform complex mathematical and statistical analyses to assess financial risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and present actuarial reports and recommendations to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to provide actuarial expertise and support.
- Mentor junior actuaries and contribute to the continuous improvement of actuarial processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Fellowship or near-fellowship of a recognized actuarial society (e.g., Institute and Faculty of Actuaries).
- Significant experience in an actuarial role within the insurance industry, preferably general insurance.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, data analysis, and actuarial software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences in Derby .
