Senior Insurance Risk Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Insurance Risk Manager to lead their risk management function in Derby . This senior role involves developing and implementing robust risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats across the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the company operates within acceptable risk appetite, working closely with senior leadership and various departments to foster a strong risk-aware culture. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of risk management frameworks, strong analytical capabilities, and the leadership skills necessary to drive risk management initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's enterprise-wide risk management (ERM) framework.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks facing the organization, including financial, operational, and strategic risks.
• Design and oversee risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare regular risk reports for the board of directors and senior management.
• Lead and mentor the risk management team, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in risk management , preferably within the insurance sector .
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing abilities.
• Experience in developing and implementing ERM programs.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., FRM, PRM) are highly desirable.
