About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Java Developer to join their enterprise applications team in Derby . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise-level software solutions. This role requires a strong command of Java and related frameworks, a deep understanding of software architecture, and the ability to work collaboratively within an agile development environment. You will contribute to critical business systems, ensuring their reliability and efficiency, and play a key part in mentoring junior developers and driving technical best practices within the team, fostering a culture of quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable enterprise applications using Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and product managers, to define and deliver software solutions.
- Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure system stability and efficiency.
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to code quality.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and technical growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in core Java and popular frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
