Senior Java Developer
Location: Newcastle
Please Note: Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance which requires 5 year continuous UK address history (typically including no periods of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside of the UK) at the point of application. Other Security Clearance requirements may be applicable, which will be discussed with the recruitment team post application.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will
Advocate for and employ good development practices on the team such as consistent branching strategy, coding standards, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing.
Support the technical leads in designing the separation of functional into microservices and the end to end integration and flow between technical components. Support the test automation engineers in testing the stories and features delivered both from a functional and non-functional perspective.
Follow the Scrum Methodology participating actively in sprint backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint review and sprint retrospective.
Support the team in delivering features by expanding capabilities into other areas of development and testing.
Skills and experience essential for this role
Strong experience in Java 8 to 17.
Proven background in Spring/ Spring Boot/ Spring MVC
JavaScript
Current hands-on experience of Java Development
Ability to mentor and develop junior developers.
Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
