Job Description
Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience as a Java developer.
- Experience in REST API and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and Basic Authentication.
- Experience with messaging systems and middleware technologies such as Kafka, NATS, Solace, Tibco, or RabbitMQ.
- Experience working with SQL and databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Hadoop.
- Experience with Java multithreading and concurrency, web services such as SOAP and REST, DB2, JMS, MQ, NDM, and SFTP.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards, software development tools, and techniques.
- Experience developing distributed systems.
- Experience using containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in low-latency software development in a microservices environment, high-performance architectures, and high-throughput applications is a plus.
- Experience in C++ or C# is beneficial.
- Experience in SBE is desirable.
- Experience with JNI is a plus.
- Ability to work with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, application recovery, and other essential support functions.
- Participate in design sessions with the development team, including employees and vendors across multiple locations.
- Evaluate and adopt new development tools, libraries, and approaches to improve delivery quality and align with the latest industry trends.
- Analyze existing software systems and propose solutions to improve overall design, architecture, and efficiency.
- Communicate with stakeholders to help shape requirements and design decisions.
- Liaise with production support teams in troubleshooting and debugging applications.
- Ensure best practices and standards are followed throughout the application development life cycle.
- Provide user and support documentation.
- Ensure applications meet performance and scalability requirements.
- Work comfortably with AI-based coding assistants and AI-powered SDLC processes.
- Drive applications development through hands-on development and bug fixes of our Java application.
