Senior Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• We are seeking to hire an ambitious, innovative, and AI-savvy engineering lead to help us to build the future of Digital Rights as part of the LSEG-Microsoft Partnership Data Platform
• As a Lead Software Engineer, you will help to design and build solutions in the complex and challenging domain of Digital Rights Management
• You will lead a squad of engineers, maintaining focus on secure, quality code whilst providing guidance and mentorship
• You will use AI tools and automation to maximise efficiency and repeatability across the Software Development Lifecycle
• You will participate in strategy and design discussions with key stakeholders from across the programme
• You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment and lead by example, developing solutions in Public Cloud
• You’ll be a strong, confident communicator, comfortable liaising with senior leaders from across the organisation
• Providing technical leadership to software engineers in your squad
• Inspiring and mentoring more-junior engineers
• Work with enterprise architects to design optimized solutions which meet product requirements
• Using and advocating AI tools to maximise developer efficiency whilst ensuring appropriate guard rails are defined and implemented
• Coding secure, efficient, and effective solutions
• Delivering solutions using Microsoft Azure capabilities
• Adopting DevOps principles to code, build and implement solutions
• Providing support to Reliability Engineering teams releasing the software that your team have built
• Ensuring that solutions conform to LSEG test strategy standards
• Working with Product Owners to understand requirements
• Working with the squad to provide accurate estimations for delivery
• Providing commitments to deliver features and successfully meeting them
• Providing clear and concise communications to the squad and stakeholders
• Helping to attract and recruit talent to a growing team

Qualifications & Skills

• Relational and NoSQL databases
• Dedication to continuous professional development
• 8+ years of Software Engineering experience using languages including
• A good understanding of ‘well-architected’ principles
• 3+ years experience of leading successful engineering squads
• C# .NET
• An empathetic, supportive leader able to inspire your team
• Motivation, self-starting and a ‘can do’ attitude
• An understanding of the financial information domain is desirable
• A desire to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• React, Angular or similar
• Strong written and spoken communication skills with an ability to present
• An enthusiasm to learn new technology and approaches – and share them with others
• Demonstrable experience of building applications in Public Cloud – ideally Microsoft Azure
• Python
