Senior Lighting Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Lighting Artist to join their creative team in Plymouth . In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning and atmospheric lighting for game environments and cinematics. You will work closely with the art and tech art teams to implement lighting solutions that enhance the mood, narrative, and overall aesthetic of our projects. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality lighting for game environments, characters, and cinematics using industry-standard tools.
• Create and optimize lighting assets, including lightmaps, emissive textures, and post-processing effects.
• Collaborate with environment artists and level designers to ensure lighting effectively supports gameplay and narrative.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting-related technical issues within the game engine.
• Develop and maintain lighting style guides and best practices for the art team.
• Mentor junior lighting artists and provide technical guidance on lighting techniques.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Lighting Artist in the game development industry.
• Proficiency in lighting tools within game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong understanding of lighting principles, color theory, and composition.
• Experience with 3D modeling and texturing software is a plus.
• Knowledge of rendering techniques and optimization strategies for real-time lighting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in Plymouth .
