Senior Lighting Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and artistic Senior Lighting Artist to contribute to their visually stunning projects in Leeds . You will be responsible for crafting the mood, atmosphere, and visual narrative through expert application of lighting in 3D environments. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of light theory, and the ability to work collaboratively with the environment and art teams to create immersive and believable worlds. Key Responsibilities

• Create compelling and atmospheric lighting for 3D scenes, environments, and characters.
• Collaborate with environment artists to integrate lighting into level design and art assets.
• Optimize lighting setups for performance across different platforms and engine requirements.
• Develop and maintain lighting style guides and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting-related issues in the game engine or rendering pipeline.
• Mentor junior lighting artists and provide technical guidance and artistic feedback.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Lighting Artist in games or CG production.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in real-time and offline rendering lighting techniques.
• Proficiency with industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max) and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Deep understanding of color theory, composition, and the principles of light and shadow.
• Experience with physically-based rendering (PBR) workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
