Senior Logistics Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Logistics Operations Manager to lead their expanding operations in Bristol . This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of the logistics and transportation functions, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the highest standards of service delivery. You will be responsible for managing a significant team, driving operational excellence, and implementing innovative solutions within the South West region's supply chain. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for the logistics and transportation department to meet business objectives.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, supervisors, and operational staff.
• Oversee daily operations, including warehousing, fleet management, dispatch, and last-mile delivery.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all logistics functions, driving continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and negotiate with suppliers and service providers to ensure competitive rates.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and transportation regulations .

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management , with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale operations and diverse teams.
• Expertise in transportation management systems (TMS) , WMS, and other relevant logistics technologies.
• Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
