Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Computer Vision

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Computer Vision to join their innovative R&D team in Birmingham . You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying advanced computer vision models and solutions that drive our product development. This role requires a deep understanding of deep learning frameworks, image processing techniques, and the ability to translate complex research into practical, scalable applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design, train, and optimize deep learning models for image recognition, object detection, segmentation, and other computer vision tasks.
• Implement and deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Conduct research into novel computer vision algorithms and techniques, staying abreast of the latest advancements.
• Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to integrate computer vision capabilities into existing and new products.
• Evaluate model performance, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on solutions to improve accuracy and robustness.
• Contribute to the team's knowledge base through documentation, code reviews, and technical presentations.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying computer vision models.
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Strong understanding of image processing, feature extraction, and traditional computer vision techniques.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices.
