About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their innovative technology team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is central to developing and deploying sophisticated machine learning models that drive key business insights and product features. You will work on challenging problems, from data processing and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment at scale. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background coupled with deep expertise in machine learning techniques, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on practical application and measurable impact in the dynamic field of AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable machine learning systems and infrastructure.
• Develop, train, and optimize machine learning models for various applications, including prediction, classification, and recommendation systems.
• Implement robust data pipelines for collecting, cleaning, and transforming large datasets.
• Deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered solutions.
• Monitor model performance, identify drift, and implement retraining strategies.

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on machine learning implementation.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of data structures , algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience working in an Agile development environment in Newcastle upon Tyne .
