About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves providing crucial financial insights to support strategic decision-making across the business. You will play a key part in financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare detailed management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to ensure financial targets are met.
- Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide financial support and analysis for key business projects and strategic objectives.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and UK GAAP or IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working within a hybrid or office-based financial function.
