About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead critical initiatives within their production facility in Liverpool, Merseyside . This role is essential for driving innovation, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and output. You will be responsible for analyzing complex manufacturing processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing strategic engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, advanced problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to manage projects that yield significant improvements in productivity and cost reduction. You will work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and systems.
- Analyze production data to identify root causes of issues and develop effective corrective actions.
- Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and techniques to reduce waste and improve workflow.
- Manage capital equipment projects, including specification, procurement, installation, and validation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including SOPs, FMEAs, and control plans.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to production teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering , Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering , with a focus on process improvement.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing , Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and statistical process control (SPC).
- Strong project management skills and experience managing significant capital projects.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and simulation tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
