About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves optimising production processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety within a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You will play a key role in project implementation, troubleshooting complex manufacturing challenges, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in process improvement and a passion for innovative manufacturing solutions, contributing significantly to the company's operational excellence and strategic growth objectives in the competitive oil and gas support sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, implementing data-driven solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
- Collaborate with R&D, design, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless product development and production launch.
- Manage tooling, equipment selection, and automation projects to support manufacturing objectives.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within the oil and gas or heavy industry sector.
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
