About the Role
Our client, a well-established manufacturer, is seeking a motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Nottingham . This role is key to optimizing production lines, improving manufacturing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. You will take a lead in identifying bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and supporting the integration of new technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, reduced waste, and improved quality.
- Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead projects for the introduction of new equipment, technologies, or process upgrades.
- Collaborate with design engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff and team leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong background in process improvement.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing tools (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen) and problem-solving techniques.
- Experience in project management, from initiation to completion.
- Knowledge of CAD software and manufacturing process simulation is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
