About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Aerospace applications to join their innovative team in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of aerospace mechanical systems and components.
- Perform advanced stress, thermal, and vibration analysis using sophisticated simulation software.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (aerodynamics, materials, systems) and suppliers in a hybrid setting.
- Ensure designs comply with stringent aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100 ).
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy and innovation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in aerospace mechanical design.
- Expertise in advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX) and FEA tools (e.g., Nastran, Ansys).
- Deep understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and failure modes.
- Experience with hybrid work environments and strong remote collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a strong track record of delivering complex projects.
