Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in the automotive sector to join their fully remote engineering team. You will be integral to the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative automotive components and systems, driving advancements in performance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex automotive mechanical components and subsystems from concept through to production.
• Conduct in-depth engineering analysis , including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to optimize designs.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Collaborate closely with remote cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new design concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers within the remote team structure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on automotive applications.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and advanced simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven success in a remote work environment.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver high-quality results under remote supervision.
