Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their cutting-edge product development team. This is a fully remote position, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK while contributing to significant technological advancements. You will play a pivotal role in the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization and design through to prototyping and testing of new mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of new products from concept through to mass production.
• Utilize advanced CAD software and simulation tools to create detailed designs and perform rigorous analysis.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless product integration.
• Oversee the creation of prototypes, conduct performance testing, and analyze results to iterate on designs.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, DFM/DFA reports, and BOMs.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards within a remote team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, stamping).
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, remote setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
