About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their advanced Research and Development division. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of cutting-edge mechanical systems and products within an R&D context.
• Conduct advanced engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, vibration, and fluid dynamics, using sophisticated simulation tools.
• Oversee rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of new mechanical designs and technologies.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional remote teams, including software, electrical, and materials engineers.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and contributing to team expertise.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related advanced technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on R&D and innovation.
• Expert proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., Creo , CATIA) and a wide range of CAE simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Proven track record of successfully developing and launching innovative mechanical products.
• Deep understanding of materials science, physics, and experimental design principles.
• Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, tailored for remote collaboration within the Oxfordshire region and beyond.
