Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK . This pivotal role involves leading the design and development of innovative mechanical systems from concept through to production. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of complex mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
• Conduct thorough FEA and CFD analysis to optimize designs for performance, durability, and manufacturability.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications , and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement teams to ensure smooth production integration and supply chain efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and materials.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD , or similar CAD packages, and experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Deep understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics principles.
• Demonstrated experience in managing design projects from initiation to completion.
