Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative product development team in Wolverhampton . This role is instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping new mechanical systems and components for their diverse product portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to bring cutting-edge designs from concept to production. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
• Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee prototype builds, testing, and validation processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on design projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in a hybrid setting in Wolverhampton .
