Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Leeds . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced mechanical systems and components.
• Perform detailed stress analysis , thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up calculations.
• Create comprehensive 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials using advanced CAD tools.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure design feasibility and product quality.
• Oversee prototype development and testing, troubleshooting design issues and implementing solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo , SolidWorks) and FEA tools.
• In-depth knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Proven ability to lead complex design projects and manage technical challenges.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
