Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team, operating on a fully remote basis. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of complex mechanical systems and sub-assemblies.
• Conduct detailed FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to optimize performance, durability, and efficiency.
• Create and manage detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, in a distributed work environment.
• Oversee prototype fabrication and testing, analyse results, and implement design improvements.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant technical specifications, regulatory standards, and cost targets for projects supporting Cardiff .

  Requirements
• MSc or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design, product development, and project leadership.
• Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work setting.
• Excellent communication skills, essential for clear and effective collaboration across geographically dispersed teams supporting our Cardiff operations.
