Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in London . This pivotal role involves leading the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and detailed drafting of mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Perform complex stress analysis , thermal analysis, and dynamic simulations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing, and project managers, to ensure design feasibility and integration.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation , including design specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and test procedures.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation, troubleshooting issues and implementing design modifications.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support on technical challenges and project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis .
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and FEA software is essential.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in project management and leading design reviews is highly desirable.
