Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge projects in Brighton . You will collaborate within a dynamic team, taking ownership of design challenges from conceptualization through to prototype and production. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems from initial concept to final product release.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations, simulations (e.g., FEA , CFD), and tolerance analyses to ensure design robustness.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using advanced CAD software packages.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Troubleshoot design issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective engineering solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative design approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Over 8 years of comprehensive experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Expertise in using professional CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of material science, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead design initiatives.
