Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their thriving team in Derby . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components, from concept to final product.
- Utilize advanced CAD software and simulation tools for design creation and analysis (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for design-related challenges.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and project management teams in a hybrid setting.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and BOMs.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and contribution to projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
- Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation packages.
- Strong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a hybrid team structure.
