About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Reading . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced mechanical systems and components using sophisticated CAD tools.
• Perform complex engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, using FEA software.
• Develop and manage detailed design documentation, including technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., electronics, software, manufacturing) to ensure integrated product development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering skill development within the team.
• Oversee prototype testing and validation, troubleshooting issues and driving design refinements.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in mechanical design and product development, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Expertise in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks Premium, CATIA) and FEA analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Proven ability to lead design projects and mentor engineering teams.
• Excellent understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a hybrid work model in Reading .
