Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leicester . This role is crucial for developing innovative mechanical solutions for cutting-edge projects. You will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and validation of mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, reliability, and cost targets. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components from concept through to production.
• Perform detailed stress analysis , thermal analysis, and other engineering simulations using FEA software.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation , including drawings, BOMs, and design reports.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of designs, addressing any issues that arise.
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering their professional growth and technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) and FEA analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail in design and analysis.
• Proven experience in leading design projects and working within a team environment.
