Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components using advanced CAD tools .
• Perform rigorous engineering analysis, including FEA , thermal, and dynamic simulations, to ensure design robustness and performance.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing.
• Collaborate effectively with remote cross-functional teams, including product management, electronics, and software engineering.
• Oversee prototype development and testing, troubleshooting issues and implementing design improvements.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and technical decision-making for projects based in or managed from Leeds .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor) and simulation packages.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, regardless of location.
