Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in London . This pivotal role involves leading the design and development of innovative mechanical systems, from conceptualization through to production. You will be instrumental in driving technical excellence, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative environment, contributing significantly to cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of mechanical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
• Conduct thorough stress analysis , thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
• Create detailed technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and project management, to ensure seamless product development.
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation phases, documenting results and implementing design revisions.
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of technical growth and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and development.
• Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and thermodynamics .
• Demonstrated experience in leading design projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in a London -based engineering context.
